Nagao

Brentwood

Sushi and salad run supreme at Brentwood’s treasured local bar. Never changing, the menu and ingredients at Nagao have remained the same for decades. Incorporating a true California feel to his menu, Chef Nagao has consistently delivered on bringing his clientele consistent and affordable Japanese cuisine.

With a vast array of salads, I always elect to get the simple Vegetable Salad with its fresh array of ingredients containing the likes of cucumber, avocado and pickled gobo.  Make sure to take your dining adventure through a few courses of rolls.  The Salmon Box is cubed sushi roll complimented by a side dish of Nagao’s special sauce or the cream of Sum Yung Gai coined by Wayne’s World.  If your stomach still holds transition to the cucumber wrapped Baked Lobster Roll which embodies everything that is great about rolled sushi. The sushi always delivers as well.  Rumor has it, Nagao has always picked the highest quality Uni from the same vendor from Santa Barbara, and sells the delicacy at a net zero profit for his establishment.  That’s just the kind of guy I love to bring my business too.

Overall: Unfortunately Nagao retired, and the restaurant closed.
