Niko Sushi
Tarzana
Why are there so many fantastic and authentic sushi restaurants in the Valley? My West LA self remains jealous of all residing beyond the Sepulveda Pass due to places like Niko Sushi.
If dropped into a city with perhaps not as dense of a Japanese restaurant population per capita as the San Fernando Valley, Niko Sushi would have a line going around the block. However, being in Tarzana amongst an ensemble of some of the greatest Japanese Chefs in America, Niko for better or for worse falls into the pack as the status quo. Fresh, affordable, variety filled and creative, owner Nick Sasaki has hit all the buttons, dawning over two decades of success at this restaurant. The Niko hand roll is a must (but quite the mouthful).
Niko is a ‘locals only’ time spot, and those individuals know how lucky they are every time they walk through those doors.
Not necessarily worth driving across town, but if in the area, Niko Sushi is a solid choice.
