Hiko

West La

If I could describe Hiko in two words it would be “old school”.  When you walk in you instantly get the feel that the head chef is all business.  Lucky for me, that business is doing nothing but serving sushi, and by sushi, I mean Nigiri and Sashimi.

Hiko is wonderful in its simplicity.  Their affordable omakase, is a perfect balance between quality and quantity. The meals begin with a tuna sashimi appetizer dressed to perfection, and ends with the divine combo of Uni and Ikura.  It is restaurants like this that spark my passion for sushi.  Lunch or dinner at this small unassuming restaurant leaves little left in the tank for wanting.  It is true when they say, “old school” very well may be the “best school”. Hiko in many ways remains under the radar, but not for lack of purpose. It is a feet that only further amplifies itself in the folklore of urban sushi legend.

Overall: The first rule of Hiko, is don't talk about Hiko... the second rule of Hiko is DON"T TALK about Hiko… well, I just talked about Hiko...   (Quality: Very High – Variety: Average – Value: Good – Vibe: Average)
